Nicole Lucas Haimes

Nicole Lucas Haimes is an award-winning documentary filmmaker and writer who is passionate about promoting science education.
She is most proud of her science-based project Cracking The Code, an hour-long documentary that depicts the ordeals of parents and their children suffering from genetic illnesses as they pursue cutting-edge treatment. Broadcast on PBS INNOVATIONS, the film earned an Emmy nomination; and won the Prix du President, Montreal Film Festival and the Silver Screen Award, US International Film Festival.
Nicole wrote and produced for Vital Signs, an ABC p rimetime reality medical mystery series exploring the humanity, passion, skill and self-doubt of medical professionals .
Her work has also been seen on ABC News Turning Point, Fox, CBS, NBC and AMC. Her short film Counter Parts screened at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
Her other awards include: the Judges Award, World Hunger Media Award; Gold Certificate, Galaxy Award; Gold Certificate, Questar Award; Directors Choice, Black Maria Film Festival; and Finalist at both the American Film and Video Festival and the USA Film Festival
Nicole has also turned her attention to screenwriting, and recently completed HAIRLESS, a science comedy inspired by the true story of the discovery of the gene for baldness.
She volunteers her time at PS#1 elementary school and lives with her husband and two sons in Venice, CA
