Message from the Duke Director

We have started off the new year strong and are actively recruiting new members for our chapter. We currently have about 30 undergraduate volunteers. The organization is split into numerous strategic thrusts.

We are currently piloting a training program in the Duke chapter that involves grouping InnoWorks veterans with new InnoWorks volunteers for at least one semester, during which they will learn about the structure and function of the InnoWorks effort. Also, over the next few years, many InnoWorks students will be in high-school and might be able to participate in a junior mentors program for alumni. Eventually, we hope they will come back as full mentors for a new generation of InnoWorks students.

We believe that such a system will be a fun learning experience for everyone involved and will further our goals of perpetuating the InnoWorks mission. As more and more chapters emerge around the country and the world, we plan on establishing regional associations to foster the development of a true global InnoWorks family to the benefit of local communities.
