Shiruyeh Schokrpur

2011 Chief Operations Officer

Shiruyeh Schokrpur is a first year medical student in the MD/PhD program at UCLA. Before coming to UCLA, he spent two years researching in the laboratory of Dr. Judy Campisi looking at microRNAs involved in cellular senescence. He graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Molecular and Cell Biology with an emphasis in Genetics and Development. While at Berkeley, he did work in the field of alternative mRNA splicing in the laboratory of Dr. John Conboy at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. In addition to his research work, he volunteered in the surgery department at Novato Community Hospital and emergency department at Marin General Hospital. In his spare time, Shiru likes to play videogames and board games, go to the movies and attend college sporting events. This is his first year with InnoWorks.
