Abhi Hendi

2009 Mentor

Abhi is the 2009 Director of the University of Pennsylvania InnoWorks Chapter. He was a mentor in 2008.

He reflects on the 2009 Duke InnoWorks experience:

"Even after already having mentored a group of four kids at the 2008 Penn Chapter, and directing the 2009 Penn program, participating in the 2009 Duke InnoWorks Chapter was one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Besides the obvious change of scenery and surroundings, the people I worked with made the program unforgettable. Mentors and staff came from all over, Florida to Boston to Minnesota and Pittsburgh, and these special people ranged from a senior in high school to 2nd year MD-PhD students at Harvard Medical School.

In a somewhat re-structured program, Mentors were paired up and each pair of mentors worked with four InnoWorks students. Personally, I built great bonds with both my co-mentor and my four students, and I hope to keep in contact with these kids! I'm even considering coming back to visit next year, even if it costs me $200, because the program was that special to me. I really got to appreciate the amount of work it takes to build a chapter and the tremendous dedication some people have for InnoWorks."
