Allen Chhav

2009 Mentor

Allen Chhav is currently a rising senior in the undergraduate Architecture Major at Penn. He was born and raised in Philadelphia and has been here ever since. At Penn, Allen is currently a brother and member of the National Co-ed Serivce Fraternity, Alpha Phi Omega (APO) as well as the Vietnamese Students Association. He has been on board for 3 semesters for APO including Public Relations Chair, VP Membership Chair, and Pledge Educator. He has been Webmaster for VSA and have helped in planning and organizing a Charity Banquet Dinner which raised over $10,000 for IVUMed, an organization dedicated to training doctors and nurses who in turn go to assist third world countries. His future plans are to pursue a career in Architecture in addition to attending a grad school.

Allen graduated from the West Philadelphia Catholic High School; where he was a member of the Cultural Diversity Club as well as Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). Interned for the Design & Construction Department of the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania (HUP).

This summer, he is interning for the Penn Downtown Center (PDC) this summer for a historical mural project in Grove City, PA, which is also sponsored by the Philadelphia Horticultural Society, the Philadelphia Murals Arts Program, and Keep Pennsylvania Beautiful. He looks forward to ending his summer by volunteering and helping with InnoWorks.
