Shruti Saran

Shruti is a recent graduate of the University of Michigan. When she was little, she wanted to be “famous”, now she plans to pursue a career in medicine and healthcare. Outside of school she has been involved in multiple programs at the University of Michigan Ginsberg Center, a community service and social justice organization where she was on Lead Team. She also worked with Prison Community Arts Project as a workshop facilitator in creative writing and theatre at various juvenile detention centers. During undergrad, Shruti spent time volunteering and doing genetics research at the University of Michigan Hospital.

Shruti’s other outreach experiences include a trip to Peru, where she tutored at a boy’s home and oversaw the construction of a two room classroom/clinic facility. During another service trip to India, Shruti developed, implemented, and taught a sustainable computer literacy program for young women in Tamil Nadu.

Shruti’s whiles away her free time by taking photos, reading, indefinitely clicking through links on Wikipedia, unleashing her inner foodie, exercising, attempting to earn her finite Erdos-Bacon number (she still wouldn't mind being famous!), and enjoying the company of her friends and family.

Shruti is moving to Austin, Texas this year and will miss InnoWorks.
