Yong Hoon Kim

2011 Curriculum Officer

Yong Hoon Kim graduated from UCLA summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa in 2010, majoring in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology. He is currently a curriculum officer in the newly founded InnoWorks chapter at UCLA.

He has been extensively involved in teaching and advocating scientific literacy both as an undergraduate assistant for MCDB 104 and as a mentor for CityLab at UCLA.

For the past four years, he has been conducting virology research in Dr. Ren Sun's lab in Molecular and Medical Pharmacology. He was an Amgen Scholar in 2009 and an honors thesis student, investigating the regulation of late gene expression in gamma herpesviruses and developing a rationally designed live attenuated gamma herpesvirus as a novel vaccine candidate.

In the future, he plans to attend medical school to become a medical scientist.
