Melissa Tawa2012 Co-Director, 2011 Chief External Recruitment Officer
Melissa Tawa is currently a third year majoring in Environmental Science with a minor in Conservation Biology at the University of California Los Angeles. She is passionate about the environment and studying the impacts of human activity on biodiversity.
On campus, she is Director of Operations for Climate 411, was a member of the UCLA Cheer Squad and also Program Assistant for Community Outreach/Special Events. Additionally, she has been a member f Colleges Against Cancer, which puts on Relay for Life, a 24-hour event, each year as well as a UCLA pirit Ambassador.
Lastly, Melissa is a research assistant for Dr. Paul Barber, a professor at UCLA. In this laboratory she studies the evolution rates of fish population in the Coral Triangle in response to sea level rise since the last lacial maxima.
