Alex Li

2007 Funding Director

Alex Li is currently a sophomore at Duke University majoring in Biomedical Engineering and Economics. He is from America?s finest city, San Diego, CA. He served as InnoWorks?s Corporate Relations Officer and worked on curriculum development in 2005. He is now the Deputy Director of Funding and Sponsorship and participates on the committee for recruitment. He graduated with distinction in the top 2 percent of his class from La Jolla High School. At La Jolla High School, he served as the President of California Scholarship Federation and was selected as a Charles and Marian Seymour Memorial Award winner in 2005. He was also the school?s recipient of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Medal and the 2005 Western Regional winner for ExploraVision. He ran and lettered on the high school track team in the 400 meter and 4x400 meter.

He volunteered for over 750 hours in the Spinal Cord Unit of VA Hospital and has received four special recognitions. As the Student Aide Manager, he is in charged of over 100 student aides at Gateways Summer School where he has worked over the past five summers. Over the past summer, he was also an intern at Fqubed, a transdermal materials biotechnology company. At Duke, he is also serving as the Wellness Coordinator for the Wellness Selective Living Community and a representative on the Crowell Quad Council. He is also involved with Network for Future Executives of America. Alex made the Dean?s list in Fall ?05 and Dean?s List with distinction in Spring ?06. In the Future, after graduation, he will be applying to business school and eventually starting a career in business management. His interests include photographing, football (Chargers), baseball (Padres), running, and cooking.
