Jihoon Lee

2013-2014 Co-Deputy Director

Jihoon is an undergraduate student majoring in Bioengineering at Caltech coming from Redmond, Washington. He is interested in the computational aspect of biology, as well as molecular biology, both of which are interests he wishes to pursue further in the future.

Through the SURF program offered by Caltech and upon his own initiative, Jihoon has been able to conduct research work since the middle of freshman year in Prof. Peter Dervan's lab as part of a project to determine the potential antitumor effects of a class of small molecules on prostate cancer cells. He hopes to continue such research throughout his undergraduate career and beyond.

Jihoon first heard of InnoWorks in his freshman year at Caltech, and was quickly drawn in by the opportunities to be able to teach, mentor, and interact with students, giving an outlet through which he could apply himself in another light besides the usual studying and researching.

When he is not at his desk, classes, or lab, Jihoon likes to watch movies, listen to music, or take random walks.

InnoWorks is a Winner of the 2007 BRICK Awards
