Cathy Chang

Cheif Curriculum Officer

Cathy Chang is currently a freshman at the University of Maryland College Park and is double majoring in Psychology and Neurobiology. She has been involved in InnoWorks since fall’06 and is the Chief Curriculum Officer for Maryland Chapter of InnoWorks. Having graduated from Winston Churchill High School in 2006, she has received several musical honors including Tri-M Music Honors Society, All-State Orchestra (2003), and All-Country Orchestra (2003-2006). She was also an AP Scholar, a FIAT scholarship recipient, and a member of the Academy of Mathematics, Technology and Science. Cathy was also awarded for her volunteer work in 2006. She had volunteered as a student nursing assistant at Shady Grove Hospital (‘04-‘05), and as a laboratory assistant at NIH (‘05-‘06) and ProteinONE (summer ‘02, ‘05). Cathy also used her musical abilities to perform for patients at former MedLINK Hospital & Nursing Center (‘03-‘05) and served as a Band-Aide at Interplay at Strathmore Music Center (‘04-present). Cathy also volunteered at the APPA Thrift Store (‘03-‘04) and was employed by Cancer Quality Care (‘06). On the weekends Cathy has been serving as an altar server at the Epiphany Parish in Georgetown since 2000.

At Churchill, Cathy was a participant in the Biology Olympiad (’06) and a member of the Academy of Math, Technology & Science. She founded and was president of the American Red Cross Club (’05-’06). Cathy was secretary of the Latinos En America Club (’05-‘06) and was a member of the Amnesty International Club (’03-’06). She was also a French tutor (’05-’06) and was on the JV Girls Volleyball team (’03, ‘04) and the Varsity Girls Volleyball team (’05).

Since attending the University of Maryland in the fall of 2006, Cathy has been the vice president of programming on the BCC Hall Council. She is also an executive board member of the Maryland Neuroscience Society and the East Coast Asian American Student Union Committee. Cathy is also part of the Big/Little Mentoring Program in the College of Life Sciences and is a member of the Circle K International service club.
