Melissa QaziMember, Board of Directors
Melissa is a recent graduate of Duke University, with a major in Psychology--Neuroscience. She served as the fist International Chapter Coordinator for InnoWorks.
Originally from Northern Virginia, Melissa began tutoring peers in math during her sophomore year at Falls Church High School. She was a member of the Varsity Math team from her freshman year, and she served on the executive boards of the National Honor Society, French Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta, and Future Business Leaders of America. She spent her summers volunteering at the American Red Cross, working at an Internal Medicine clinic, and traveling.
At Duke, Melissa undertook multiple research projects in the Levin lab studying neural circuitry as it pertains to Alzheimer's disease and the cognitive symptoms of schizophrenia. She was also actively involved in student organizations, dancing with a classical dance troupe (Lasya) and performing in Awaaz, a cultural show at Duke. Melissa served as the President of the Hindu Students Association during her junior year and as a Resident Assistant during her junior and senior years. Her wide array of experiences with InnoWorks have been most fulfilling and eye-opening, and have kept her active in the organization beyond her time at Duke.
In her free time, Melissa enjoys singing, dancing, driving absurdly long distances to see her friends, and laughing so hard that she occasionally sprains her ribs.
