Anudeep Mukkamala

2008 Executive Director, 2008 Logistics Director

Anudeep Mukkamala is a junior and a Regents Scholar at the University of Michigan, majoring in Spanish/pre-medicine. In May 2006, he graduated from Grand Blanc High School as a National Merit Finalist and an AP Scholar with Honor. He served as captain of the Boys' J.V. Tennis team for two years and as President of the Indian American Student Association at GBHS. He has received the Michigan Merit Award, the Bausch & Lomb Science Award, the Rensellaer Math/Science Medal, the Farrehi Scholarship, and the Research Fellow award at the Flint Area Science Fair.

He served as Hall Representative and Community Relations Chair for the South Quadrangle Multicultural Council for 2 years. Currently he conducts research on pancreatic cancer in the Department of Surgery at U-M Medical School and leads an Organic Chemistry study group through the WISE/MRC program. Anudeep has also been involved in community service through hospital volunteering and through the Alternative Spring Break program, traveling to Minneapolis/St.Paul, MN to tutor Hmong refugee children.

This is his third year of involvement with InnoWorks, serving first as a mentor at at the University of Pennsylvania (2007). Greatly motivated by his mentoring experience at Penn, Anudeep founded and directed the Michigan chapter soon after, serving both as the Executive Director (2007-2009) and Logistics Director (2008) here in Ann Arbor. In his free time, Anudeep enjoys working out, writing prolifically, cooking, and learning to play the saxophone. His career goal is to practice medicine in an academic setting.
