Mount Sinai Chapter

Message from the Director: Edward Chu

Welcome to Innoworks at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine!

This August, we are excited to launch our first ever week-long summer camp for middle school students in East Harlem. Our unique program will take a close look at the healthcare problems that have long-plagued the East Harlem community, and help students better understand how they can overcome these medical challenges. By combining Mount Sinai’s state-of-the art facilities with its talented and diverse medical school mentors, we hope to provide an interactive, hands-on learning experience that will leave students with a fresh perspective about the hazards in their local environment.

A premier tertiary-care facility, Mount Sinai Hospital is one of the country's oldest and largest voluntary teaching hospitals and is internationally acclaimed for excellence in clinical care, education, and scientific research in medicine. With long-standing and deep roots in the East Harlem community, The Mount Sinai Medical Center is dedicated to being a full and active participant in the community it serves. The Innoworks chapter at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine is an embodiment of this tradition. Our innovative summer camp seeks to empower the young residents of East Harlem with the motivation and mindset needed for a potential career path in science and healthcare.

We hope you will join us this August as we explore and expose the medical mysteries of East Harlem. If you have any questions about Innoworks or enrollment in our free summer camp, please feel free to contact me at mount_sinai@innoworks.org.
