Welcome to the Penn Chapter of InnoWorks!

This summer, the University of Pennsylvania will host its third annual InnoWorks program from August 31st - September 4th. We have a great group of student volunteers who are in the process of planning the activities and challenges for this year, based on the Making Sense of Senses curriculum. Students will learn about all five senses through an array of hands-on experiments and activities while engaging in friendly competition against other middle school teams!

Our major source of funding this year will be from a GlaxoSmithKline grant. They have offered an immeasurable amount of support as they show their commitment to helping students develop as confident and better learners. Penn Engineering has also helped in securing student housing, facilities and various equipment for our program. We would also like to thank the Graduate School of Education and the Civic House for aiding us in contacting middle schools to recruit InnoWorkers. In addition, we'd like to thank some of our food donors, who graciously agreed to provide lunch for the members of our program, both students and volunteers! This year, Penn Dining, Lee's Hoagie House and Phoebe's BBQ all chipped in to make sure our InnoWorkers have plenty of food (energy!) to keep on learning and working throughout the day. Finally, a huge thanks goes out to Gina Cheng and Andy Chen, the former directors of the Penn Chapter, who have led us through the planning process and last but not least, my amazing deputy director Julian Liang and our outstanding staff and mentor team!

Join us for InnoWorks at Penn this year, where learning science and engineering is all about fun!
